An authentic Malaysian Chinese cuisine of Chinese Mixed Vegetable dish found in restaurants usually comprises of meats or seafood, and vegetable condiments such as cauliflowers, bell peppers, carrots, celery, and mushroom. Other condiments are added to enhance the flavor, and presentation of the dish. I particular love Chinese mixed vegetable dish because of the colorful condiments that comes with the dish.
In this dish, bamboo shoots and straw mushroom are added to give flavor, and sirloin beef are used for the wholesome taste.
Ingredients and Preparation for 4
- garlic - 5 cloves - sliced
- onions - 1/2 large size - sliced
- chili - 4 pcs
- baby carrots - 15 pcs
- celery - 2 stalks - slice into thin strips
- red & green bell peppers - slice into square pieces
- cauliflower - 1 cup full
- broccoflower/green cauliflower - 1 cup full
- bamboo shoots - thin slices - 1 cup full
- straw mushroom - 1/2 cup
- sirloin beef slices - 1 lb
Cooking Steps
Add beef meat. Continue stirring and frying.
For flavor, add:-
- 2 tbs vegetable sauce/mushroom sauce
- 2 tbs vegetable soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp chicken stock
- 1/2 pepper
Combine seasonings with beef meat.
Cover with top, and leave to simmer for 5 minutes over medium heat until beef meat tenderize.
Add cauliflower and green cauliflower, carrots, bamboo shoots, straw mushroom.
Combine well with cooked beef.
Cover with top, and leave to simmer for 2 minutes over medium heat.
Add corn flour mixture (2 tbs flour to 4 tbs water).
Keep stirring and frying.
Add celery, red and green bell peppers.
Combine well with the rest of the cooked ingredients.
Ready for serving.
